Product Marketing Manager
This is a high visibility position reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing. The Product Marketing Manager will play an important role in developing and communicating our product messaging and positioning and develop go-to-market strategies. This position includes working closely with the VP Marketing and VP Sales to develop leveraged tools and programs to establish Inmagic's market position and enhance our ability to sell.
The primary focus of this role is to serve as a critical liaison between the marketing and sales organization and engineering in the establishment of high level market and product requirements and leverage our sales efforts through the development of highly effective sales tools such as competitive analysis and positioning, sales demonstrations, pricing and vertical/solutions marketing strategy and programs. This person will also serve as a content driver for corporate marketing communications and lead generation programs.
As part of a small startup marketing and sales organization, the person in this position will be presented with a significant opportunity to grow and expand the role by assuming greater responsibilities as the organization grows.
Responsibilities:
- Develop core product positioning and messaging
- Develop, maintain and extend sales support tools and programs to leverage lead generation and the sales cycle
- Conduct competitive analysis
- Develop pricing strategies
- Drive “content” for all corporate marketing and marketing programs
- Gather and organize market and product requirements and to serve as a “product” advocate both internally and externally. Be the “Brand Manager”
- Gather and Support sales team during sales process on the technical aspects of the Inmagics' software
- Perform demos of the Inmagics' application to prospective customers that address their business needs
- Work closely with the sales team on specific selling opportunities as needed and appropriate.
- Serve as one of our “content experts” and spokespeople in interactions with industry analysts, key press and in other industry forums such as conferences and web-based industry Blogs.
Required Capabilities:
- Ability to understand the business needs of our customers and markets relate them to our offerings and develop messaging to leverage this understanding.
- Ability to have an in-depth knowledge of our products and markets.
- Solid grasp of technical constructs (especially with .net and Web 2.0 applications) both conversationally and from a practical use perspective.
- Strong communication skills (presentation, verbal and written)
- Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels and functional groups.
- High level of energy, persistence, discipline and strong desire to do whatever it takes to win
- Team player who sees his/her job as one of leveraging the organization to attain higher success
Desired Experience:
- 3-8 years of software technology experience with web-based e-Business applications such as content management, knowledge management, business intelligence, and collaboration software
- Direct experience in product marketing, product management or pre-sales with high value business-centric applications
- BS/BA from a reputable college or university in computer science or business
- MBA helpful
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
