Pre-Sales Engineer - Application / Solutions Engineer
The primary role of an Application/Solutions Engineer is to work collaboratively with Inmagic's direct sales team and provide support for all technical aspects of the sales cycle.
Job requirements include but are not limited to the following activities: software demonstrations (in person, web, events), proof-of-concept development and demonstration, RFI/RFP preparation, opportunity & account planning, liaison for Inmagic Professional Service and Product Management teams.
The Application/Solutions Engineer plays an vital role in establishing and maintaining the technical sales relationship with prospects. In concert with the sales representative, the Applications/Solutions Engineer maps Inmagic capabilities to client needs and sets expectations for successful post-sale implementations.
As part of a small but growing sales and marketing organization, the qualified candidate will also assist in the development of policies, practices and sales support tools including but not limited to: standardized solution presentations, competitive analysis, pricing models, sales policies, sales practices, and any other tools/programs as required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Technical Sales Support for sales team during all phases of Inmagic's sales cycle.
- Develop and present the business benefits in conjunction with the functional capabilities of Inmagic's solutions to prospective customers.
- Develop prospect specific proofs-of concept demonstrations.
- Participate in the Opportunity discovery process to identify and document business and technical requirements in the prospect qualification phase of the Inmagic sales cycle.
- Understand the prospect's business and technical requirements and as related to specific functionality and/or capabilities within Inmagic's solutions.
- Provide Professional Services with any detail supportive of the project's statement of work.
- Assist in post-sales transition from sales team to professional services team
Required Capabilities:
- Strong ability to identify the business and technical requirements of a prospective customer during the sales cycle.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate Inmagic's ability to address those requirements through compelling presentations of Inmagic's applications and solutions.
- Strong understanding of Inmagic's technical architecture and its ability to interoperate with prospective customer IT infrastructures.
- Strong technology background (especially with .net and Web 2.0 applications) combined with the ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels.
- Excellent presentation and customer facing skills.
- Excellent written communication and quantitative skills, specifically related to proposals, RFI/RFP response and MS PowerPoint presentations.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, persistence, discipline and strong desire to succeed.
- Willingness to do what is necessary to win.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of technical sales support experience with enterprise software applications.
- Previous experience with professional services and project management helpful but not required.
- Experience with .NET and Web 2.0 applications.
- Experience with SaaS applications and hosted solutions.
- BS/BA from a reputable college or university in computer science or related field; MBA helpful but not required.
