Ron Matros
President and CEO
Ron Matros recently joined Inmagic as President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Matros leads all key facets of the business, including engineering, services, finance, sales, marketing and new business development. He also joins Inmagic’s Board of Directors.
Matros joins Inmagic from MetaCarta, Inc., Cambridge, Mass., where he was President and CEO. There, he successfully raised two rounds of venture capital funding, which was used primarily for operations and market expansion, resulting in significant sales growth during his tenure. Before that, Matros served as the President and CEO of iConverse, Inc., Waltham, Mass., where he was responsible for building the U.S. sales and marketing organization and raising capital. The company successfully raised funding during unfavorable market conditions, and eventually was acquired by a complementary partner, InfoClarus.
Earlier, Matros served as President of OpenMarket Inc., the leader in e-commerce solutions, and FutureTense, Inc., a leading content management solution. He successfully managed each company individually, and then also in the role of CEO after the companies merged.
Matros holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
Phillip Green
Chief Technology Officer
Phillip Green served as Inmagic's President and CEO from 1990 until September 2006, during his tenure Green led Inmagic through its successful transformation from products based on DOS to Windows and ultimately the Web. In 2006, he was named Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Inmagic's Library Business. In this role he sets business strategy and product direction for Inmagic's Library solutions. In addition, he works closely with Inmagic's top accounts and has overall responsibility for Inmagic's global partner network.
Green joined Inmagic after more than 15 years of experience in the software and information management industries. Before Inmagic, he held a variety of management positions at Lotus Development Corporation, including director of product marketing for the One Source division, director of systems software development, and product manager for financial services products. Prior to Lotus, Green was a consultant with Communications Studies and Planning International, where he worked on the roll-out strategy for dBASE III and business planning for Ashton-Tate's initial public offering. As an independent consultant to Microsoft, he worked on the project management team for Microsoft Word.
Green is a graduate of Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in economics. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Karen Brothers
Co-Founder and Inmagic Fellow
Karen Brothers co-founded Inmagic, Inc. in 1984 with Elizabeth Eddison, to carry forward the library automation software business initially developed by Warner-Eddison Associates (WEA). As Vice President of Development at WEA, Brothers was the chief architect of the INMAGIC software that gave the new company its name. Brothers served as the new company’s President and CEO for the first 6 years and was a director for 24 years, including 7 years as Chairman of the Board. Currently, Brothers is responsible for the development of DB/Text Library Suite, the company’s web-based library automation suite.
Prior to WEA and Inmagic, Brothers and a business partner ran a software consulting firm. She holds a BS degree in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
David Golan
Vice President of Sales
David Golan joined Inmagic in early 2008. Golan assumes responsibility for developing and executing all aspects of global sales including revenue generation, forecasting, lead generation and business development. He is specifically chartered with growing Inmagic’s worldwide business and expanding customer relationships in the research asset management and special library applications markets. Golan brings more than 18 years of successful sales, marketing and executive management experience from CRM, Analytics and Market Research companies within the enterprise software and on-demand software products industry. His specific responsibilities have included field sales operations, domestic and international channel development and global product marketing. Prior to joining Inmagic, Mr. Golan was Vice President of Business Development at Exchange Solutions Inc. (ESI), a company that designs and hosts innovative collaborative commerce solutions for banks and retailers. Prior to ESI, Mr. Golan held senior sales and executive management roles with Vovici Corporation (formerly Perseus Development Corp), Rightnow Technologies (formerly Salesnet) and Applix (now IBM).
Golan holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Vermont.
Mike Cassettari
Vice President Marketing and Business Development
As Inmagic's Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Cassettari is responsible for Inmagic’s marketing and business partnership strategy, corporate communications, demand creation and customer programs to further extend the company's leadership position in research asset management and special library applications. Prior to joining Inmagic, Cassettari has held a number executive marketing positions in related application software companies, most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing at Mathsoft Engineering and Education, Inc., a provider of engineering calculation management software, until its acquisition by Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC). Previous positions include Vice President of Marketing for Affinnova, Chief Marketing Officer at Ascential, a provider of enterprise data integration, and executive software marketing roles at Syncra Systems, Oracle Corporation and IRI Software.
Cassettari holds a BS from Northeastern University and an MBA from Suffolk University.
Wally McKenzie
Chief Client Officer
Since joining Inmagic in early 2007 as Chief Client Officer, Wally McKenzie has led the company's professional services and support organization to meet the growing demand for the company's research asset management applications. He brings more than 25 years of consulting and services experience to the company. Prior to joining Inmagic, McKenzie served as a director in Oracle's Business Intelligence and Analytics consulting practice. Earlier roles include Vice President of Client Services for Elytics, a web analytics company, and co-founder and Vice President of Consulting at Legacy Technology (acquired by AnswerThink, Inc), an information technology service firm specializing in the implementation of data warehousing and decision support solutions.
McKenzie holds a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Michael Balmuth
Michael Balmuth, General Partner, directs Edison Venture's New England regional team based in the Boston area. He oversees Edison's expansion in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Michael also heads Edison's industry sector practice in healthcare information technology. Michael served as the lead investor in companies focused on interactive marketing, financial technology, electronic commerce, communications, infrastructure software, energy technology, storage and other enterprise applications. Michael is actively involved with the New England Venture Capital Association, Tuck Center for Private Equity and Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network.
Michael has 20 years of technology industry experience as a venture capitalist, investment banker and software executive. During the past 11 years in the Boston area, he served as Managing Partner of Mainspring Capital and General Partner at Summit Partners. He led the east coast office for the Summit Accelerator Fund as a founding partner.
Michael earned an AB degree in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
David Darsch
Mr. Darsch has over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurship and managing technology companies. He has a strong Trans-Atlantic as well as Pan-European focus and is active with clients in both the U.S. and Europe . Mr. Darsch mentors entrepreneurs and helps them develop business plans that accelerate revenue growth and/or external infusion of capital. He has been involved in more than 10 transactions involving the purchase, sale, merger or infusion of capital into companies.
Mr. Darsch is the Founder of the Pan-European CEO-Collaborative Forum (CEO-CF). The CEO-CF is the premier platform for high-tech high-growth CEO collaboration. Current membership includes CEOs from 15 different nationalities and cultures. This unique invitation-only Forum provides expert help, peer group collaboration and coaching for CEOs of European-headquartered companies with Pan-European, Trans-Atlantic, and Trans-Asian market strategies.
In 1979, Mr. Darsch founded a privately-held software development company in the Washington , D.C. area. He served as its CEO until the company was acquired in 1996 by a systems integrator. During his tenure the company was recognized as one of the Inc. 500 fastest-growing U.S. companies. He holds a BS in finance from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.
Tony Florence
Tony Florence has more than 25 years of sales management experience and serves as executive sales manager at VFA, a facilities capital planning and asset management provider. Florence has extensive experience in both creating an organization from the bottom up as well as developing worldwide sales and marketing strategies for emerging growth companies. Florence is responsible for the direction and leadership of the sales force at VFA
Most recently, Florence held senior management positions in strategic sales and business plans including: president of Lochard Environment Systems where he developed and implemented worldwide sales and marketing strategies, securing multi-million dollar contracts in the U.S., Canada, Finland, U.K., Israel, and Switzerland; general manager of Priority Data Systems Corporation; and vice president of sales and marketing for Climage Novasoft, Inc.
