President's Message
Since the publishing of our last newsletter, I'm pleased to report that we're making great progress on all aspects of our business. The pace of our investments in research and development, support services and sales and marketing continues. I hope you can all see the early fruits of our labor and share our excitement as we position Inmagic to even better meet our customer and market needs today and well in to the future.
Our mission is simple: To help our customers address their most critical information and knowledge-based problems. We do this through industry leading tools and innovative applications that cost-effectively leverage strategic content, make it readily accessible, and make it easily shared and enhanced through the "wisdom of the community".
In this issue of @Inmagic, you'll learn more about some of the exciting happenings at Inmagic. At this year's SLA conference, many of you were able to see demonstrations of our new social knowledge network strategy, new products and enhancements to exciting products, and to experience the energy of our many customers in attendance.
For those of you unable to join us in Seattle, I encourage you to take a moment to look at our new Web site and blog. I know of no better way to share the excitement than to have it come from directly from the people that were there. Customers who presented at the conference such as RV Anderson and Jeff Wolfe of InDyne (KICS) speaking about NASA, the packed house at our customer reception and Paula Hane, News Bureau Chief of Information Today Inc., and her blog post where she shared her reactions all speak to this exciting time for our company and our customers.
Speaking for the entire team here at Inmagic and our network of business partners around the world, I thank you all for your support over the years and for your enthusiastic response to where we are taking the company. I look forward to sharing even more positive news in the coming months and years.

Andornot Releases WebPublisher PRO Scripts Under Open Source License
Recently, Inmagic partner Andornot released selected Inmagic® WebPublisher PRO enhancement scripts under an MIT Open Source license.
Over the years Andornot has developed many add-on scripts that enhance the functionality of Inmagic's WebPublisher PRO software. The company has received many requests for these scripts, but do not have the time to document them fully or support them outside of the project in which they were used. Therefore, Andornot has decided to make them freely available under an Open Source license. Under this license, users are welcome to download, implement and even modify the scripts for their own needs and projects.
"We believe that releasing these scripts to the community will allow developers to add unique features specific to their websites, further increasing user satisfaction with Inmagic WebPublisher PRO." Check out Andornot's demo site and view the page source for the path to scripts for enhancing search and display pages.

Rock Star Librarian
Ginger Richards is Senior Electronic Resources Librarian at the National Endowment for Democracy in Washington, DC. She manages projects related to new ILS and KM software, educates her own and partner organizations on taking advantage of Web 2.0 trends, and helps affiliates in other countries use technology effectively. To stay on the cutting edge, Ginger and the NED are moving from a DB/Text environment to a new Inmagic® Presto ILS.
Before Ginger was a knowledge management pioneer for the NED, she studied music and majored in Music Librarianship in graduate school. Ginger now belts out rocking vocals and slick licks on guitar for the DC garage rock band The Hall Monitors.
Ginger met band member Sean Crowley on Myspace when she had just moved to DC and was interested in meeting like-minded people. She had posted in her profile that she played guitar, and Sean and his two lifelong friends, Matt and Michael Sullivan, were looking for a female guitarist for the next incarnation of their band. The band had been trying for a pop sound but nothing really jelled until they switched over to garage. As music fanatics, Ginger and Sean shared a passion for music that spanned all genres. They discovered they particularly loved 50's and 60's garage rock'n'roll and rockabilly. Thus, The Hall Monitors was born. (Also www.myspace.com/hallmonitors)
The band felt The Hall Monitors' sound would be a nice tribute to the rich DC roots of rock - citing Link Wray and the rockabilly of Robert Gordon. There were no garage bands in DC at the time, and crowds reacted favorably. "It's such an intense and political town," observed Richards, "people find it refreshing that we're not political, just a lot of fun. DC audiences have a reputation for not dancing, but at our show last week the entire crowd was up and moving! We give them a real chance to relax and enjoy themselves."
Sean Crowley is the lead singer and guitarist, Ginger plays guitar and sings, Michael Sullivan plays Drums and Matthew Sullivan plays bass. They are enjoying a lot of popularity with The Hall Monitors and currently are in negotiations with a record label.
The band members have successful day jobs as well. Sean is a trademark attorney, Matt is a mechanical engineer, and Mike is director of a wilderness adventure camp. "Mike makes these crazy faces, he's such fun to watch - such a ball of energy! No wonder he's good with kids," remarked Richards. How do they keep it all going? Ginger says they rely on a lot of online collaboration, especially when their schedules are tight, but they love what they're doing so there's always time for the band.
Ginger Richards denies that she is the secret love child of Ginger Baker and Kieth Richards.
