Congratulations to David Bratchford of Legal Aid Queensland - the 2004 Inmagic InfoHero
At SLA, we were very pleased to announce David Bratchford, Library Services Manager, Legal Aid Queensland (LAQ), as the 2004 Inmagic InfoHero. David's innovative work in the redevelopment of the LAQ Grants Handbook received unanimous votes from this year's judging panel. The LAQ Grants Handbook is the primary resource used for assessing requests for grants of legal aid, appeals against refusal of aid, and the purchasing of legal services throughout the state of Queensland. David was selected based on the work he and his staff have done to significantly increase accessibility and usability of the Grants Handbook for in-house staff and LAQ preferred suppliers as well as providing online access to the general public. Although David was unable to attend this year's SLA, Inmagic Partner Trimagic will be helping him celebrate Down Under. For more information on the award, read the press release and stay tuned for the upcoming Success Story on the LAQ solution. To view the online access for the general public go to www.legalaid.qld.gov.au, select About LAQ, then select Grants Handbook in the left navigation bar. Recap of SLA ActivitiesIn addition to some good Tennessee barbeque in Nashville, we had a great time at the Inmagic booth, particularly meeting and talking with so many of our customers. Inmagic® Genie was the hit of the show with many customers and others stopping by the booth to see a live demo. As always, we enjoy and take advantage of the opportunity to have more personal contact with our customers and talk in detail about how Inmagic products are used and how they are helping people in their businesses and organizations. Inmagic sponsored a couple of sessions and Susan Stearns gave a presentation as part of the SLA Technology Alliance Series titled Ding Dong! The ILS is Dead: Retooling the information center to align with strategic IT initiatives. Although it was a moderate sized audience - how can you compete with a session on using laughter to relieve stress management - the presentation was very well received. If you are interested in receiving a copy of this presentation, we have made it available from our homepage www.inmagic.com.
