Inmagic Genie v3.30
Genie v3.3 enhances the product’s serials management and configurability capabilities.
Available to all Genie customers on active maintenance, the product was released to customers on March 30, 2009.
The new serials functionality enhances tools such as arrival date prediction, routing lists, and workflow. In addition, Genie v3.3 introduces easier configurability options, with updates to functions such as report-driven batch e-mail and alternate search syntax. These updates will ease library administration and improve 508 compliance, a Federal regulation for making electronic and information technology accessible to the disabled.
Genie v3.3 Release Highlights
Genie v3.3 includes a number of new features aimed at improving Serials functionality as well as the configurability of the application and improvements for 508 compliance.
Improved Serials functionality includes:
- Workflow
- Edit new serial record from Catalog edit screen
- Batch subscription renewal
- Batch arrival date renewal
- Arrival date prediction
- Daily omitting weekends or Sundays
- Issue numbers without volume numbers
- Volume and issue copied to Item records
- Routing lists
- Batch add/remove borrower for selected subscriptions
- Include mailstop or other borrower field on routing list
- Update routing list upon Borrower name change
- Support for more than one routing list per subscription
Enhanced Configurability includes:
- Report-driven batch e-mail
- Checkbox form
- E-mail content and parameters defined by a report
- Configurable status message added to processed records
- Available for loans, serials, orders, ILL
- Alternate search syntax option and other items
- Google-like (type words or phrases)
- Apply to specific query screens
- Content and sort order of Items table on Items edit screen
- Fields to clear when a record is duplicated
- E-mail SMTP authentication: username and password
- Improvements toward Section 508 compatibility (accessibility features)
