Inmagic Presto for InfoCenters

Version 2.1 Now Available

Inmagic® Presto was released on 8/31/07. The following is only a partial list of the important improvements available.

Key Features:

  • Presto goes bilingual/localized:
    • French Canadian versions of the user interface and Help are now available.
    • Presto now supports accented characters in searching and sorting.
    • Ships with localization for: Canada French, Canada English, Great Britain English, Australia English, New Zealand English (spelling, date formats, etc.)
    • Field names have been updated to support accented characters, most punctuation characters, and previously-reserved words (e.g., Unique).
  • Genie Integration: Presto can now be configured to search an existing Genie catalog.
  • Federated Search Integration: Federated searching gives you the ability to search over 3,000 external subscription databases such as Lexis Nexis or Factiva, and deep web databases such as PubMed.
  • Auto-login support for guest users: systems can now have a truly public interface, and need not require login for all levels of user.
  • Better RSS feed support: RSS feeds now accommodate all best-of-breed RSS readers. RSS capability enables users to receive alerts on topics that they wish to monitor.
  • Better Alerts: All Alert types can now be scheduled.
  • Easy automated upgrades: Presto 2.0 can be upgraded to Presto 2.1 via a new automated upgrade program.
