Inmagic® Presto began shipping in April 2008. The following is only a partial list of the important improvements available.
Key Features:
Permissions - Record level security:
- Roles can now be permissioned to view a subset of a Content Type
- Permission is created through a “search,” which limits the records a Role can see
- Users with multiple Roles see any record that any Role can see (the aggregate of all permissions)
- Folders now show number of items they contain
- Now available in Search Results, Browse Collection, and Info Cart
- Term searching,
- Category field search
- Performance improvements
- New Document Capture service – imports documents from specific folders
- Global Alerts
- Large event performance improvements
- New console application for rebuilding or optimizing indexes
- Fields can be more easily reordered during configuration of Views & Screens
- Images in body of Detail Screen can now be automatically re-sized (e.g. thumbnail)
- For Content items, jobs or events (delete or deactivate). Very important when managing copyrighted content or high volume / ephemeral items such as RSS or Newsfeeds
- Improved Info Cart display shows how many items are in the cart
